Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay with cash?
Tickets must be purchased in advance online and tours often sell out quickly. We recommend booking at least a month in advance to maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer. Tickets can only be purchased with a Visa or Mastercard via Paypal. Cash or check is not accepted for ticket reservations.Cashier's checks are accepted in advance. If I need to cancel my reservation, will I get a refund?
Yes, you will receive a full refund so long as you provide a 72 hour notice from the date of the hop. If you need to reschedule your reservation, a $25 fee will be charged to your credit card.
What if I arrive late?
Food Hop drivers will grant a 10 minute grace period for late pick up. Later than 10 minutes of the pick-up time, missed tours, and no show are not subject to the refund policy.
How long is the tour?
A Food Hop is normally 3 hours from pick up to drop off. However, please allow 30 minutes grace period for all hops due to traffic delays. We are not responsible for delays due to accidents, breakdowns, or adverse traffic and weather conditions.
What if it rains?
All FoodHop tours are held rain or shine. You should dress appropriately for the day's weather conditions. In the event of severe weather, we will make a final determination on cancelling the hop within 2 hours of hop time. Should FoodHop need to cancel any hop due to severe weather, we will reschedule the same hop at a later date.
Are gratuities included in the price for restaurant service staff?
Yes, with the exception of any additional purchases that you may make during the hop. You are free to show our tour guide/driver your personal appreciation with any additional tips.
Are the FoodHop tours appropriate for children?
We like kids of all ages to enjoy FoodHop tours. While some tours may be more suited for children (i.e. pizza hop), if you are bringing an infant or a child under the age of 5 and they are not participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them. Our shuttles are not equipped with child safety seats, so please let us know if you will be attending with an infant or young child when you purchase tickets. Are your FoodHop tours wheelchair and/or stroller accessible?
Unfortunately, wheelchairs are not permissible on FoodHop due to the nature of the shuttle. We can certainly accommodate families with strollers.
How much food is served on a FoodHop tour?
There are generally up to three (3) stops for food tastings and/or locations on each FoodHop. Some hops will have fewer stops while others may have additional stops along the way depending on the nature of the hop. Each restaurant will offer a sampling size of several signature dishes. By the end of the hop, your appetite will be well served!
Are there any beverages served on the hop?
We supply everyone with a bottle of water at the start of the tour. Some FoodHop tours will also feature special alcoholic beverages.
What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?
Because of the individuality of each FoodHop tour, it is near impossible for us to replace specific dishes that will be offered by the restaurants. Please be sure to read the Terms and Conditions, along with the Disclaimers section of the website prior to purchasing your ticket.
Are tours offered only in English?
Yes, we only offer FoodHop in English, although our palates are international! If you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour, please contact info@food-hop.com.
If a hop is sold out, can I get on the waiting list?
Yes, there is a waiting list for FoodHop. If a date is sold out, there is always a chance that we will add an additional hop. Please check back online for additional tour options or email info@food-hop.com and let us know what date you are interested in.
Are gift certificates available?
Yes, gift certificates are available for all FoodHops and make perfect gifts for holidays, birthdays, or any other special occasion! To purchase a gift certificate, visit the page for the tour you are interested in and click on the "gift certificate" link, or contact info@food-hop.com.
Can I book a FoodHop tour for a private party?
YES! We are more than happy to accommodate any special event from birthdays to bachelorette parties to business groups. Each FoodHop shuttle can accommodate 1-24 people.
